On long wanderings through my home regions of Alsace and Southern Germany, I stage the Catholic rural countryside, focused on the confrontation of strangeness and familiarity. In three chapters – Today’s Been a Good Day, Stroke III, and Future / Past – I venture on a both documental and personal search for traces, proceeding from late autumn 2020 to the first weeks of spring 2021. The chronological landscape photographs are accompanied by eight Objets trouvés, natural and personal objects, as well as by short, intimate and poetic notes and annotations, drawing an autobiographical story of hope, loss, and new beginnings.
